Hezbollah Claims 1,100 Ops Against Israel Since Start of Hostilities

(MENAFN) Lebanon's Hezbollah group announced Sunday that it has carried out 1,100 military operations against Israeli targets since the outbreak of hostilities on March 2, marking a significant operational milestone as the conflict in Lebanon enters its fourth week.

The group's military media wing issued a brief statement asserting that the operations were launched "in defense of Lebanon and its people" since the start of an Israeli offensive.

The declaration comes as Israel has relentlessly bombarded Lebanon with airstrikes while simultaneously pressing a ground offensive across the country's south — a campaign triggered by a Hezbollah cross-border attack on March 2.

The human cost on the Lebanese side has proven severe. Authorities in Beirut have recorded at least 1,228 people killed and 3,543 injured in Israeli attacks since the fighting began — casualties that underscore the devastating civilian toll of nearly four weeks of sustained military engagement.

The Lebanon front represents one theater in a rapidly widening regional conflict. A joint US-Israeli air offensive against Iran, launched on Feb. 28, has separately killed more than 1,340 people, fundamentally reshaping the Middle East's security landscape. Tehran has responded with waves of drone and missile strikes directed at Israel and US military installations across Gulf countries, further compounding the region's instability.

With Hezbollah now publicly quantifying the scale of its retaliatory campaign, the group appears intent on signaling both its operational capacity and its resolve — even as the broader regional war continues to escalate on multiple simultaneous fronts.
