Erdogan Arrives in Budapest for OTS Summit

(MENAFN) Turkish Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Budapest, Hungary’s capital, on Wednesday to participate in an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Upon his arrival, Erdogan was greeted by Hungary’s Minister of Construction and Transport, Janos Lazar, Protocol Director General Anett Varga, the Hungarian Ambassador to Türkiye, Viktor Matis, and the Turkish Ambassador to Budapest, Gulsen Karanis Eksioglu, along with staff from both embassies.

During his visit, Erdogan is scheduled to attend a meeting of the OTS Council of the Heads of State.

He will also engage in bilateral talks with other heads of state and government present at the summit.

The event, which carries the theme "Meeting point of East and West," is expected to include discussions aimed at strengthening the organization’s institutional framework and the approval of various resolutions, including the Budapest Declaration.

This was shared by Türkiye’s Communications Director, Fahrettin Altun, on social media platform X.

Erdogan is accompanied on this trip by his wife, First Lady Emine Erdogan, as well as Akif Cagatay Kilic, the chief presidential adviser on foreign policy and security, and Altun.

The summit of the heads of state is scheduled for today.

Türkiye, along with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, is a full member of the OTS, while Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus hold observer status.
